the Hope of Survivors

Raquel Mallett

Raquel MallettI was sexually abused during high school by my teacher/assistant principal and that was one of the darkest moments in my life. I wanted to escape but did not know how as it lasted for a few years. In 2013, I realized that God was orchestrating steps in order for me to be free. I was referred to The Hope of Survivors due to someone hearing my story, which truly was a blessing. The organization provided me with hope and showed me that I am not alone. I then realized that I was able to become a survivor. Through many moments spent in prayer and crying, I was able to see that God still has a plan for my life and that He desires me to be able to share my testimony with others to aid in them overcoming. That is my goal and I now know that I have a greater purpose to expose this terrible sin and provide support for other victims. One scripture that encourages me greatly is, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” Ps 23:4. I am honored to be a part of The Hope of Survivors.
