|THOS-UK Is Back!|
I am very pleased to announce that, after a long vacancy, we now have two new leaders for The Hope of Survivors-UK Division (THOS-UK)! Allow me to introduce Michael and Molly Walker to you!
As a family Michael, Molly and their four children like traveling and visiting family and friends. They try to instill in their children the importance of caring, sharing and giving and at every opportunity to be willing to offer a helping hand when and wherever this is possible. God has blessed them with a loving and caring family network.
Michael has served as an Elder since 2002 in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He was born in Birmingham, England, and moved to be in the country with his family in 2008 where they currently live in a nice country part of Scotland. Michael loves ministering to people and having guests over, visiting the sick, giving Bible studies and supporting those who are vulnerable. He also enjoys spending quiet time with Jesus in His word and with his family and friends. He has worked as a shoemaker for a total of 8 years but has spent most of his employed time in some form of care work/volunteering role which he finds very fulfilling. His friends and family describe him as being a very friendly person and caring by nature.
Molly describes herself as a typical house wife as she loves taking care of her family. She used to home school her three younger children which was a joyfor her to see God work in their lives and on their hearts. Molly and Michael adopted their two youngest boys. They were foster carers to them when they were 18 months and 3 years old, then they adopted them when they were 3 and 5 years old.
Molly has also worked as an Adult Placement Carer along with her husband which meant that people with mild learning disabilities and dementia would come and stay with their family for a period of time and they would care for them. They did this for around 4 years before leaving to do missionary work in Peru. Molly has been a Foster Carer & a Childminder combined for over 8 years. She has also worked in various roles such as Admin and Accounts. But, she says, none of them are as fulfilling as when she works ministering to people's needs.
I am grateful that Molly & Michael have decided to join The Hope of Survivors and revive THOS-UK. If you are a victim of clergy sexual abuse living in the UK (England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland), you may contact Molly and Michael for assistance.
Truly, God has blessed and it reminds me of His promise in Proverbs 13:12, "Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life." For the victims in the UK, having THOS-UK up and running again is truly a "tree of life!"
Thank you so much for your faithful prayers and support!
God bless you,
